Annual Cold Water Boating Safety Reminder

Prior to June 1st the water temperature on Lake Champlain is typically near or below 50F. At those temps, falling in the water without a PFD is a life threatening situation. Whether in your dinghy or on your boat, it is stongly recommended to wear your PFD at least until the water temps are consistently above 50F or more conservatively above 60F (if you care to jump in, you'll find 60F is still pretty darn cold and can become debilitating).

The New Docks are In!!!

Today (Thursday 4/17) was the perfect day to get the docks in and assembled!!!

A great team effort by many LCYC volunteers, Shelburne Shipyard, Structurmarine and Pierre and his team.

Singlehanded Dinghy Program

LCYC sponsors Singlehanded Dinghy (Laser and RS Aero) racing on Thursday nights from early June through early September. To encourage more sailors to participate in our racing LCYC is allowing a limited number of non members, for a nominal fee, to keep their boats at LCYC for the racing season. Participants are not club members, but will be permitted to keep a boat (on a dolly) at the club and access the club, as a guest, subject to the rules of the club and this program, as detailed below. To be clear, participation in this program is predicated on regular participation in the Thursday race series.

Monica Morgan named a finalist for US Sailing Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year

Based on her sailing accomplishments over the past year, LCYC's own Monica Morgan has been named one of 3 finalists for US Sailing's 2024 Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year. This is US Sailing's most prestigious award and just being named a finalist is a tremendous honor.
